It holds a String value and is part of the faculty search record's data. The rank field belongs to the faculty search it is recorded on, so faculty, staff, and automations read or set rank while working with that FacultySearch record. Because rank is part of the FacultySearch record, it stays consistent with the rest of that record's data and is scoped to the tenant that owns the faculty search.
