current balance (Fund.currentBalance) is a field stored on each fund record in Chalk, the higher-education academic operations platform for curriculum, assessment, faculty, scheduling, accreditation, and budget. It holds a Float value and is part of the fund record's data. The currentBalance field belongs to the fund it is recorded on, so faculty, staff, and automations read or set currentBalance while working with that Fund record. Because currentBalance is part of the Fund record, it stays consistent with the rest of that record's data and is scoped to the tenant that owns the fund.
