It holds a String value and is part of the instructor preference record's data. The tenantId field belongs to the instructor preference it is recorded on, so faculty, staff, and automations read or set tenantId while working with that InstructorPreference record. Because tenantId is part of the InstructorPreference record, it stays consistent with the rest of that record's data and is scoped to the tenant that owns the instructor preference.
