Process step — step number

step number (ProcessStep.stepNumber) is a field stored on each process step record in Chalk, the higher-education academic operations platform for curriculum, assessment, faculty, scheduling, accreditation, and budget. It holds a Int value and is part of the process step record's data. The stepNumber field belongs to the process step it is recorded on, so faculty, staff, and automations read or set stepNumber while working with that ProcessStep record. Because stepNumber is part of the ProcessStep record, it stays consistent with the rest of that record's data and is scoped to the tenant that owns the process step.
