version number (ProposalVersion.versionNumber) is a field stored on each proposal version record in Chalk, the higher-education academic operations platform for curriculum, assessment, faculty, scheduling, accreditation, and budget. It holds a Int value and is part of the proposal version record's data. The versionNumber field belongs to the proposal version it is recorded on, so faculty, staff, and automations read or set versionNumber while working with that ProposalVersion record. Because versionNumber is part of the ProposalVersion record, it stays consistent with the rest of that record's data and is scoped to the tenant that owns the proposal version.
