metadata (ReportArchive.metadata) is a field stored on each report archive record in Chalk, the higher-education academic operations platform for curriculum, assessment, faculty, scheduling, accreditation, and budget. It holds a Json value and is part of the report archive record's data. The metadata field belongs to the report archive it is recorded on, so faculty, staff, and automations read or set metadata while working with that ReportArchive record. Because metadata is part of the ReportArchive record, it stays consistent with the rest of that record's data and is scoped to the tenant that owns the report archive.
