year (ScholarlyWork.year) is a field stored on each scholarly work record in Chalk, the higher-education academic operations platform for curriculum, assessment, faculty, scheduling, accreditation, and budget. It holds a Int value and is part of the scholarly work record's data. The year field belongs to the scholarly work it is recorded on, so faculty, staff, and automations read or set year while working with that ScholarlyWork record. Because year is part of the ScholarlyWork record, it stays consistent with the rest of that record's data and is scoped to the tenant that owns the scholarly work.
