search id (SearchDocument.searchId) is a field stored on each search document record in Chalk, the higher-education academic operations platform for curriculum, assessment, faculty, scheduling, accreditation, and budget. It holds a String value and is part of the search document record's data. The searchId field belongs to the search document it is recorded on, so faculty, staff, and automations read or set searchId while working with that SearchDocument record. Because searchId is part of the SearchDocument record, it stays consistent with the rest of that record's data and is scoped to the tenant that owns the search document.
