It holds a Json value and is part of the self study document record's data. The metadata field belongs to the self study document it is recorded on, so faculty, staff, and automations read or set metadata while working with that SelfStudyDocument record. Because metadata is part of the SelfStudyDocument record, it stays consistent with the rest of that record's data and is scoped to the tenant that owns the self study document.
