The isRequired field belongs to the template variable it is recorded on, so faculty, staff, and automations read or set isRequired while working with that TemplateVariable record. Because isRequired is part of the TemplateVariable record, it stays consistent with the rest of that record's data and is scoped to the tenant that owns the template variable.
