tenant id (Vote.tenantId) is a field stored on each vote record in Chalk, the higher-education academic operations platform for curriculum, assessment, faculty, scheduling, accreditation, and budget. It holds a String value and is part of the vote record's data. The tenantId field belongs to the vote it is recorded on, so faculty, staff, and automations read or set tenantId while working with that Vote record. Because tenantId is part of the Vote record, it stays consistent with the rest of that record's data and is scoped to the tenant that owns the vote.
