`Analyte.isRegulated` is true when the analyte has one or more regulatory thresholds assigned, making it subject to exceedance detection during result import.

When isRegulated is true on an Analyte, piper automatically compares every new AnalyticalResult for that chemical against the site's assigned threshold sets and creates Exceedance records when the concentration exceeds a limit. Analytes where isRegulated is false — such as field parameters used for purge monitoring — are tracked in results but skipped during exceedance calculations, reducing noise in compliance reporting.
