The updatedBy field on an Analyte complements createdBy to give a complete audit trail for chemical library management. When an analyte's defaultUnit or analyteGroup is corrected after initial import, updatedBy captures who made the change. This matters for compliance: if a regulatory auditor questions why a threshold comparison used a particular unit, the audit trail through updatedBy shows who authorized the change and when.
