When a laboratory cannot measure an analyte above its detectionLimit, it reports the result as a non-detect. Piper sets the isNonDetect flag on the AnalyticalResult to true in these cases. Non-detects are handled conservatively in exceedance detection — the detectionLimit is still compared against the ThresholdValue to flag situations where even the limit of detection is above the regulatory standard. The isNonDetect flag also controls how the result is displayed and interpreted in trend charts.

Analytical Result Is Non-Detect
The `isNonDetect` flag on an AnalyticalResult indicates that the laboratory did not detect the analyte at or above the analytical detection limit for the sample.
