The collectionMethod on a CoCRecord is a required documentation element in most monitoring programs. Regulators and laboratory protocols specify which collection methods are acceptable for different analyte groups; using the wrong method can invalidate results for volatile organics, for example. Common values include "low-flow peristaltic pump," "bladder pump," "bailer," or "passive diffusion bag." This field appears on the paper CoC and in regulatory submittals, so it must match the method actually used in the field.
