In multi-person field crews, different technicians may collect samples from different wells during the same event. The collectorName on a CoCRecord lets you record who was responsible for each individual well's sample, even when the parent ChainOfCustody lists a different lead samplerName. This level of detail matters when a specific sample is questioned — you can identify exactly which technician collected it and follow up with them directly about field conditions at that well.
