The wellId on a CoCRecord is the key link between a CoC document and the monitoring network. It tells Piper which well's analytical results should be tied to this custody record. When results are imported from the lab, Piper uses the wellId to associate them with the correct monitoring point, enabling trend analysis and exceedance detection by well. Always verify wellId accuracy when entering CoCRecords — an incorrect well ID will cause results to appear on the wrong well's history.
