The wellId is how field staff and reviewers refer to a well throughout its life. Values like MW-1, EX-3, or PZ-4A are matched against lab report headers during import, so the wellId must exactly match what the laboratory records. A mismatch triggers a MissingWellId import issue that blocks the result from being committed.
