Every Artifact is recorded under a single project, and projectId stores that link. The project sets the scope for an artifact's catalogNumber, which must be unique within the project. When you catalog a find, you choose its project and Relic records the projectId so the artifact appears in that project's inventory, reports, and exports. Deleting the parent project cascades to its artifacts, so the link is enforced at the database level rather than being optional context.
