Artifact

An `Artifact` is the central record in Relic for a recovered object. It carries a `catalogNumber`, a `materialType`, physical measurements, and a `provenience` describing exactly where it was found.

Each artifact you catalog gets a unique catalogNumber within its project and a materialType such as CERAMIC, LITHIC, or GLASS. You record where it came from using provenience, optional northing and easting coordinates, and a depthCmbd depth measurement. You can describe its size with lengthMm, widthMm, thicknessMm, and weight, note its condition, and track how far it has moved through processing with pipelineStage. Artifacts link back to their project, site, excavationUnit, stratigraphicLayer, and feature, and connect forward to photoRecords and labBatches.
