The provenanceChangeLog field stores a structured JSON history of such changes so there is a durable, auditable trail of what changed, when, and by whom. It is optional and only accumulates entries as significant edits occur. This record supports compliance reporting and protects the integrity of an artifact's provenance over its lifetime.
