Every AuditLogEntry stores an AuditAction so the system keeps an accountable history of who did what. VIEW records that a user looked at a sensitive record. CREATE, UPDATE, and DELETE record the standard write operations on data. STATUS_CHANGE records a transition such as moving a project or report to a new status. NAGPRA_RECLASSIFY is a specialized action recording that an artifact's NAGPRA category was changed, which is logged with extra scrutiny because of the legal sensitivity of NAGPRA material. This audit trail supports compliance review and chain-of-custody requirements.
