The source field records where an inbound event came from — the name of the product or service in the Skarn suite that emitted it. This is useful context for both processing and auditing: knowing that an event originated from a particular product helps Relic interpret its payload correctly and helps operators trace cross-product activity back to its origin. Stored as free text, it accommodates any number of emitting systems without needing a predefined list, so new producers can appear in the inbox as the platform grows.
