Lab Batch Number

The `batchNumber` on a LabBatch is the identifier that uniquely names the batch within its Project.

The batchNumber is the label staff use to refer to a LabBatch — for example "LB-001" or "2026-WASH-03". It must be unique within a project, so two batches in the same project can never share a number, which keeps references unambiguous on labels, paperwork, and screens. Because it is project-scoped rather than globally unique, different projects can reuse the same numbering scheme. This is the human-facing handle that ties a physical tray or box of artifacts in the lab to its database record.
