The completedDate marks the day all processing on a LabBatch was finished. It is optional and stays empty while the batch is still in progress, then is set once the work wraps up. Paired with startDate, it closes out the processing window and shows how long the batch took. A populated completedDate is a clear signal that a batch is done and its artifacts have moved on, which helps supervisors track lab progress and confirm that recovered material has been fully processed.
