A lot moves through these states:
Pending — built and waiting to run.
In ring — currently being sold.
Sold — a buyer won it; a sale transaction exists.
No-sale — ran but didn't sell (see no-sale reason).
Rebroke — merged or split into other lots; superseded.
Withdrawn — pulled before it ever ran.
Only one lot per ring is "in ring" at a time. Rebroke means the lot's animals live on in a different lot, while withdrawn means they left the sale entirely.
