The sale type is the first decision you make when you create a sale. It describes what kind of run this is and shapes what can be consigned and sold that day.

  • Weekly Cattle — the routine cattle sale.

  • Special Sheep/Goat — small-ruminant sales.

  • Horse — equine sales.

  • Dairy Dispersal — a herd being dispersed, typically dairy cattle.

  • Bred Cow — bred females sold for production.

  • Mixed — more than one species selling the same day.

You set it once at sale creation; it then becomes the lens most schedules and reports group by.
