The Permission record (Permission) is a record type in Chalk, the higher-education academic operations platform for curriculum, assessment, faculty, scheduling, accreditation, and budget. Each Permission row is scoped to a tenant and stores fields such as id, tenantId, resource, action, description, calendarRestricted, createdAt, tenant, roles. These fields hold the data Chalk needs to track a permission as faculty, staff, and automations work with it. Because every Permission row carries a tenantId, one institution's permission data is never visible to another.
