Threshold Set Assignment

A ThresholdSetAssignment is the join record that connects a ThresholdSet to a monitoring site. When a ThresholdSetAssignment is active (isActive true), every ThresholdValue in the assigned set is evaluated against new AnalyticalResults at the assigned site. The assignment records when it was made (assignedAt) and who made it (assignedBy).

Applying regulatory standards to a site requires an explicit ThresholdSetAssignment. When a compliance manager assigns a ThresholdSet such as a state MCL table to a site via its siteId, Piper begins evaluating all new AnalyticalResults from that site against every ThresholdValue in the set. Multiple sets can be assigned to a single site simultaneously — for example, both federal MCLs and a more restrictive state standard — and exceedance detection runs against all active assignments. Setting isActive to false on an assignment suspends the set from that site's checks without removing the historical assignment record. The assignedAt and assignedBy fields provide the audit trail for when and by whom the regulatory coverage was established.
