The Equipment record (Equipment) is a record type in Chalk, the higher-education academic operations platform for curriculum, assessment, faculty, scheduling, accreditation, and budget. Each Equipment row is scoped to a tenant and stores fields such as id, tenantId, departmentId, name, assetTag, serialNumber, category, purchaseDate, purchasePrice, currentValue. These fields hold the data Chalk needs to track a equipment as faculty, staff, and automations work with it. Because every Equipment row carries a tenantId, one institution's equipment data is never visible to another.
