The Grant record (Grant) is a record type in Chalk, the higher-education academic operations platform for curriculum, assessment, faculty, scheduling, accreditation, and budget. Each Grant row is scoped to a tenant and stores fields such as id, tenantId, departmentId, title, grantNumber, fundingAgency, piName, piFacultyId, status, totalBudget. These fields hold the data Chalk needs to track a grant as faculty, staff, and automations work with it. Because every Grant row carries a tenantId, one institution's grant data is never visible to another.
