The SectionAssignment record (SectionAssignment) is a record type in Chalk, the higher-education academic operations platform for curriculum, assessment, faculty, scheduling, accreditation, and budget. Each SectionAssignment row stores fields such as id, sectionId, facultyId, role, createdAt, section, faculty. These fields hold the data Chalk needs to track a section assignment as faculty, staff, and automations work with it. The section assignment record links to the tenant that owns it, keeping each institution's section assignment data isolated.
