Field Mode is built for speed at the trench edge. The screen is scoped to a single ExcavationUnit, looked up by its id within your tenant, and headed by that unit's unitDesignation and a running count of how many artifacts have already been recorded in it. The left side is a QuickRecordForm that inherits the unit, site, and project provenience so you don't re-type context for every find — you just enter what the object is and save. The right side is a DepthProgress widget showing the unit's currentDepth against its datumElevation, with the unit's StratigraphicLayer list drawn top-down (ordered by depthTop), each layer carrying its depthTop, depthBottom, munsellColor, and designation. That gives you live vertical context — which layer you're digging in — as you record. A Back to Unit link returns to the full unit detail when you're done.

Quick Record (Field Mode)
**Quick Record** is Relic's Field Mode — a stripped-down screen scoped to one `ExcavationUnit` that lets a digger log finds one after another without leaving the page, with the unit's depth and stratigraphy shown right alongside.
