Every photograph taken on a dig is logged as a PhotoRecord so the image can be traced back to exactly what it documents. Each record carries a photoNumber, a subject describing what is in frame, an optional photographer, and the dateTaken. You can attach a record to a site, an excavationUnit, an artifact, or a feature — these links are optional, so a single overview shot of the whole project needs none of them, while a detail shot of one artifact points straight to it. The direction field records the compass bearing or shot type, and free-text notes capture anything else worth remembering about the image.

Photo Record
A PhotoRecord is the catalogue entry for one excavation photograph in Relic. It stores the image file metadata (`filename`, `filePath`, `mimeType`, `sizeBytes`) along with where and why the shot was taken.
