The Consignors directory is the market's roster of sellers — the people and operations that bring animals for you to sell. Each Consignor carries a displayName the yard knows them by, an optional legalName for the check, and the usual contact block (address, city, state, zip, phone, email) plus their brand.

The record also holds the terms that shape every payout:

  • defaultCommissionBps — this seller's standing commission rate in basis points, applied to their sold lots unless a consignment overrides it.

  • paymentMethod — how they get paid: CHECK, ACH, CASH, WIRE, and so on. For ACH, a masked routing number is kept alongside.

  • beefCheckoffExempt — whether the mandatory beef checkoff is skipped for this seller.

  • runningBalance — the single most important number on the record. It's the balance carried between sales. When a settlement can't cut a positive check (fees and prior debt exceed the gross), the shortfall lands here and is netted against the seller's next sale.

Finally, status (ACTIVE, INACTIVE, or BANNED) controls whether they can consign, and consignors with portal access can log in to the self-service portal to see their own consignments and settlements without calling the office.
