The CohortPlacement record (CohortPlacement) is a record type in Chalk, the higher-education academic operations platform for curriculum, assessment, faculty, scheduling, accreditation, and budget. Each CohortPlacement row is scoped to a tenant and stores fields such as id, tenantId, sortRunId, participantId, groupId, isManualOverride, rationale, violationCount, createdAt, updatedAt. These fields hold the data Chalk needs to track a cohort placement as faculty, staff, and automations work with it. Because every CohortPlacement row carries a tenantId, one institution's cohort placement data is never visible to another.
